Bargaining resumed August 25, 2023. MGEC encouraged negotiations that focus on accepting proposals terms and conditions. The State proposed dropping many proposals. Consequently, few proposals have been agreed to thus far. For instance, MGEC is waiting for the state to put the wages increase on the table. A summary follows.
Tentative Agreements
- Use of Paid Parental Leave for stillbirth or death of child
- Employee working out of class is eligible to receive pay based on the work out of class assignment
- Increase meals to
- Breakfast $9 to $11 ($12 high-cost)
- Lunch $11 to $13 ($15 high-cost)
- Dinner $16 to $19 ($23 high-cost)
- Use IRS hi-cost locations rather than list of cities in contract.
Remaining proposals
- ATB 10% & 10% versus 5.5% & 4.5% (not made as standalone proposal yet)
- Supervisor Pay Differential
- OT Calculation to include all hours in payroll status
- Increase shift differential from $1.65 to $2.25 (Radio Operation Center)
- Increase comp time cap from 120 hours to 200 hours
- Increase comp bank payout from 40 hours to 150 hours
- Change on-call pay from $45/day to 15 minutes per 1 hours (max 4 hours/day)
- Full time/Part time flexibility
- Market Rate Pay Adjustment
