Here we are wrapping up the first month of 2023! Last year marked 30 years with the State of Minnesota for me. I had the opportunity to serve the MGEC membership very early in my young career and look forward to having the chance to do it again in this leadership role with much more experience.
My two main goals as MGEC President are 1) working to involve the individual committees within MGEC to make sure membership’s concerns are being accurately brought to and represented at our Board of Directors’ meetings, and 2) working to retain the talent our state employees provide by focusing on fair and appropriate compensation for both the brand-new and very-experienced portions of our membership.
I’m also hoping to continue the past practice of making sure members have access to our Board Meetings via MS Teams as our next Board Meeting is scheduled for Monday, February 27th, 2023.
I am a Senior Engineer at the Minnesota Department of Transportation (MnDOT) and have been for the past six years. Prior to MnDOT I worked for the Minnesota Pollution Control Agency (MPCA) for 25+ years. Before that I was a student worker for three summers back in the late 80s & early 90s in MnDOT District 3 while attending North Dakota State University living in Saint Cloud where I grew up. I currently live in Saint Paul with my son Josh (a huge Cubs fan) and our dog Buddy where I enjoy playing golf and watching him (Josh, not Buddy) play baseball in various leagues around the City. I like to sing, am a member of two choirs, and got to perform our national anthem during my son’s birthday (at a baseball game of all places) in 2022.
Please reach out with questions or issues you have at mgecpresident@mgec.org.
I look forward to working for you.
